Duties

The most important duty of a nanny is the child safety and meeting the child’s physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs; nannies typically undertake all tasks related to the children. They work with parents as a team to ensure everyone is happy and thriving. Part-time nannies responsibilities vary depending on each family needs, but often include full care of the children, transport the children to and from activities and plan age-appropriate social and educational activities, and making simple, healthy meals and snacks for the children.

Schedules

Part-time nannies generally work between 20-25 hours per week. Schedules vary depending on the families needs but often include working either mornings or afternoons, assisting the family a couple of full days per week, working weekends, or providing after-school care.

Rates

Rates for part-time nannies varies depending on the nanny’s experience, the position duties, preferred schedule, and the level of travel and flexibility required in the role. Current rates for part-time nannies are between $15-$20 per hour. In addition to their wages, most part-time nannies receive the following benefits: paid vacation and paid holidays/sick days.
